Second episode of the „Tiktaalik audio documentary“ is based on field recordings. They are beautiful, stunning, poetic, and sometimes scary, and terrifying postcards that invite us to think about the future of the world and us in it. On the record, you’ll hear a fountain in our backyard in Mexico that doesn’t stop spinning during a terrible drought because we’re located in a socially privileged setting, we’re socially privileged. It is not easy to listen to the daily hum of social inequality. It is not easy to listen to the rivers drying up around.
Also you’ll hear the burning foothills of the Sierra Madre and us enthusiastically trying to get the ground ready for the garden; the freaked out birds around. You will hear the cicadas and the metaphysical train that runs through the awfully big city in northern Mexico, carrying the manifestations of progress day after day.
You’ll hear two-day-old baby goats being slaughtered in a cozy northern Mexican mountain village and a village radio in the background. You’ll hear five golden retrievers locked up in a big, smelly, shit-filled yard. You will hear fun and sad street music. You will hear a man who walks the streets of Chepevera playing a flute and sharpening knives. In the evening he gets drunk and his melody becomes loose. You will hear a child shouting from a moving car, that he will buy out a home appliance.

Girdėsite žmogų, kuris eina Chepevera gatvėmis grodamas dūdele ir galanda peilius, o vakare nusigeria ir jo melodija tampa nerišli.
